The SOLO Model
is an amazing horn for Jazz soloists or Classical players who prefer a
broader “German sound”, and basically anyone who wants to have the
biggest sound in the room.
It’s incredibly rich throughout the entire harmonic
spectrum and has an enormous dynamic range. If you’re looking for:
- a delicious ballad tone
- to play Be-Bop lines with the force of an elephant and the
agility of a ninja, or
- to make Mahler proud…
…this is your horn. It’s perfectly at home in both a small Jazz club
or a massive concert hall.
I play this model for almost everything.
It’s really my ideal sound. Well-rounded and HUGE.
This large-flared Phosphor Bronze bell comes with 2 options:
Either ending with a 140mm (5.5”) rim or a 150mm (5.9”) rim.
- The SOLO 140 Bell has a huge, soloistic sound.
It can still blend in a trumpet section.
- The SOLO 150 Bell, however, is simply too
massive to be confined to a section.
With such a wide dispersion of sound, it’s an amazingly creamy ballad
horn, and a weapon of mass destruction, all in one. This is most
certainly a bell for soloists and/or those who are the only trumpet
player in the ensemble.
